David Hutter set many HNX records last night as he lifted his team on his back and swam across an ocean while obliterating his opponents and helping the Deadpucks advance to the semi-finals with a 11-4 victory over Top Cheese
Hutter ended the night with 7 goals (HNX record) and a couple helpers as he continues to quietly dominate the league each season.
Other notable records: fastest 3-goal sequence by one player (three goals in a 34-second span) and most goals (6 goals) scored consecutively by one player.
Hutter opened the scoring less than five minutes into the game while shorthanded when a Top Cheese pass to the point skipped over the stick of defenseman Kien Lee and gave Hutter a clean breakaway where he tucked in between the pads of Jacob Kamel.
James Thompson gave Top Cheese their first lead of the night early in the 2nd period when he scored twice while Brian Ross served a 4-minute penalty for a head contact play to Karim Riskallah. There will be a review on the play and a possible suspension looms for the Deadpucks player.
After that, it was ALL Deadpucks as Top Cheese would surrender nine unanswered goals, including the six consecutive goals by Hutter.
Not to be overshadowed by the brilliance of Hutter, linemate Andrew Ross had a productive night as well, notching a hat trick and picking up three assists.
The Deadpucks will move on to the next round to face the Ninja Pandas in the Semi-Finals match up.
